It was so sinister it made my skin crawl throughout the entire book. Want to Read saving…. Human beings themselves, after death, become figures in a dream to the survivorsthey fade away and are forgotten, like dreams that were once convincing, but which no one cares to hear about.
It deserves to be more widely known, and, in fact, Bioy Casares deserves a larger readership. Quotes from Diary of the War Bioy Casares also refrains from idealizing old age by pretending old people were wiser, more relaxed and resigned to what life has in store.
